Auction Description
One 18kt yellow green and rose gold, ruby and pearl vintage pendant. Item is previously enjoyed.
Fit for a queen, this antique pendant is magnificent and regal in its presentation. It pays homage to the era when jewellery was only available to the Nobility or Upper Class, symbolistic in its ornate design and use of precious and semi-precious stones and high gold karat.
Imbedded in 18kt rose gold are twenty-eight oval shaped to round shaped, faceted rubies of graduated sizes, weighing approximately 2.00ctw. These “slightly purplish red” gems have medium tones of moderately strong to strong hues, with moderate inclusions and medium cuts, and line every other sweeping curve on the face. Accentuating the rubies are twenty-six “half round” cultured pearls with slightly creamy white body colour, with light to moderate blemishes, and medium to good luster all in graduated sizes as well.
Along the edges of the rosy pendant is “yellow green” gold, intricately designed to resemble a leafy vine crawling down the border. This royal pendant is attached to a sizable “V” shaped, hinged bail allowing this pendant to be threaded onto your most sturdy of chains and necklaces, to showcase this impressive 17.5-gram piece.
