One lady’s 18k white gold, diamond and ruby brooch. Item condition is previously enjoyed.
This one-of-a-kind vintage piece radiates regality. Marquise-esque in shape, this brooch measures 2.5 inches in length and 1 inch in width and is crafted in 18k white gold. This stellar, intricate design is fully encrusted with round diamonds that surround two pear shaped rubies, set horizontally.
Claw set, two pear modified brilliant cut natural rubies adorn this spectacular piece. Measuring at approximate 7.68 x 4.37 x 2.97mm., with an approximate total weight of 1.60ct., these moody red stones are by gauge of “medium dark, strong, slightly purplish red colour”, with moderate inclusions and good cut.
Bordering and outlining the unique shape of this brooch are forty-six claw set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring approximately 1.76 – 1.71 x 1.06mm, with an approximate total weight of 0.91ct. These snow-white dazzlers are graded with VS-2 to SI-2 clarities, G-H colour, and good cut. Pave’ set in rows surrounding the rubies, and lining the middle “hinges”, are a total of two hundred fifty-eight round brilliant cut diamonds that weigh an approximate total of 2.45cts., with approximate measurements of 1.53 – 1.23 x 0.82mm.
These stones were carefully matched to their larger, claw set, counterparts. The foundation of this piece is fixed with a hinged pin with a tube locking clasp, ensuring it won’t budge for your most important of events.
