Not only is this scarf Hermès, it has the provenance of being an item sold from renowned fashion designer WF Adlmüller. Adlmüller designed his first couture collection in 1934 and went on to be judged against the likes of Dior and Balenciaga. In the 1950’s he become famous for designing costumes for high profile European movies and the Vienna State Opera. He dressed many of Europe’s high society, Austrian Presidents, Queens, and was a constant presence in the gossip columns and celebrity magazines as the “go to” of fashion expert of his time. In the 1970’s and 80’s Adlmüller’s boutique in Vienna, Austria sold elite Ready To Wear, ties, scarves and handbags from other luxury brands that bore his name. Thus the existence of this Hermès/Adlmüller Lotus Flower scarf in bold blues and greens. A true piece of fashion history that could now be yours. Original design by Christiane Vauzelles, 1961.
This scarf is in overall excellent, vintage condition. There are no obvious marks or pulls.
It measures 34 w x 36 h in inches.
The edges are hand rolled and stitched. Fabric tag has been removed. This scarf comes with an authentic Hermès box.
